Habakkuk 1-3 & Zephaniah 1-3

Today, I read Habakkuk and Zephaniah, two more of God's chosen prophets, speaking to God's chosen people.  These two men may have been living before Christ, but they are speaking to me loud and clear.  And even though they point out the wrong in the world around them, it is not unlike our world today.  I have felt just like Habakkuk at times,

How long, Lord, must I call for help,
    but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”

    but you do not save?

The hardest part of faith is waiting patiently for God.  The thing I have to keep remembering as I pray my heart out is, God always hears me.  God is always there when I call out to Him.  I really have to trust in His presence even when I struggle and my heart is hurting.  If God has me waiting, it's because He has a purpose for that too.  The work God does in my life, when I wait with Him, my Savior, holding His hand through my days, may just be more important to God than the outcome for which I am praying.  That is the faith that keeps me going and fills me with joy.  Thank God for His gracious blessings even while I am in a season of waiting.

The Lord your God is with you,

    the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
    in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
    but will rejoice over you with singing.”

A prayer for today-

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you for the timeless power of Your Holy word.  Forgive my impatience.  I thank you that I can pick up the Bible, and You speak right to my heart and the needs I have today.  You are with me.  Use my times of waiting, Lord, for Your glory and purpose.

In the name of Jesus I pray,
Amen

Praying blessings for you today,
