Psalms 28-34

Psalms 28-34 reminds me that God is our helper.  Jesus died to make sure we know that now and for eternity.  When we call on God, He really hears us.  And, He answers us in the way He knows to be best, always with His unfailing love.

God is faithful.  His love will never fail us.

 For his anger lasts only a moment,
    but his favor lasts a lifetime;

weeping may stay for the night,

    but rejoicing comes in the morning.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
    and he delivers them.

The righteous person may have many troubles,
    but the Lord delivers him from them all;

God's words are nourishment for our souls.

A prayer for today-

Dear God,

I thank You for Your unfailing love and constant help.

I thank You for each new day and the healing only You can bring.

Forgive me for focusing too often on insignificant details or my troubles instead of Your power and presence.

Help me to live freely in Christ, knowing and trusting that You deliver Your children from all our troubles and turn weeping into rejoicing, wailing into dancing.

I pray for all those who are hurting so much that rejoicing and dancing seem impossible.  Wrap them in Your arms, Lord, and hold them tightly.  Fill them with Your Spirit, and show them the wonders of Your love.

I trust in You, Lord.  You are my God.

In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen

Peace of Christ,
