Psalms 40-46

Psalms 40-46 remind us not only how much we need God but how much God needs to use us to be vessels of His grace and love in the world.

God calls on us, to work with Him, in so many ways, often times at a moment's notice.

After reading today, I couldn't help but wonder, "God, am I hearing You the way You need me to hear You?  Am I listening the way You need me to listen?"

I love the answer in Psalm 42,

By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—

a prayer to the God of my life.

God directs His love.  As a believer, The God of my life directs me to be a source and a reflection of His love.  He puts me where He needs me.

God does the same for You because...

The Lord Almighty is with us;

And not only does God call, He blesses us again and again as we live for His call.

A prayer for today-

Dear God,

Thank You for Your love and grace.  Thank You for blessing me with Your presence so I can be a blessing to others.

Forgive me for all the ways I am an imperfect listener.  Help me hear Your call, especially moment to moment when I so easily get caught up in my own thoughts.

Your wonders are many, Lord.  Your plans are great.

[Reflect on God's wonders around You and give thanks for His work]

Here I am.  I want to do Your will, my God.  Be with me and keep my heart open to Your Holy Spirit.

In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen

Grace,
