Psalms 139-144

Blessed is the people of whom this is true;
    blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.

These words from reading Psalms 139-144 really stood out to me today.

I started thinking about how great our God is, how loving, how perfect, how powerful, how merciful, how good...

I am so blessed to be able to call Him my Lord and Savior.

My heart wells up with thankfulness as I reflect on the real, "hard" evidence of His life-giving, transforming, presence in my life.

Life with my God is a life of more.  The more I learn about God, the more I want to know Him.  The more He changes me for the better, the more I want to let Him work His will in me.  The more I hand over to Him, the more He is able to do in me and through me.  Life with my God is a life full of more than I could ever ask for or imagine.

So as I say, "You, God, are Lord of my life," I know there is always more to the story than meets the eye and mind.

A prayer for today-

Dear God,

Thank You for making me in Your image, for knowing everything about me, and for loving me unconditionally.  Thank You for preserving my life and ordaining my days with Your great purposes.

Forgive me for getting weighed down and distracted by busyness, fear, selfishness, impatience, judgement, and frustration.

I need You, Lord, because I know how prone I am to being faint and lost.

Search me, God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24
See if there is any offensive way in me,

    and lead me in the way everlasting.

Empower me, Lord, to keep fighting the good fight for You.  Give me strength, courage, and the discernment I need to hear Your voice in my life.  Help me secure justice for the poor and uphold the causes of the needy.

Watch over my way, Lord.

I pray for Your mercy and relief for _________________.  Let each new day bring him/her/them word of your unfailing love.  Show _______________ him/her/them the way to go.

Teach me to do your will,
    for you are my God;

may your good Spirit

    lead me on level ground.

I entrust my life to You, my Lord and Savior.

In Jesus' holy name I pray,
Amen

Blessings,
