Joel 1-3

Joel is another prophet from the Old Testament.  As I was reading today, the thing that kept jumping out at me was the power of turning to God when my ways are not His ways.

We don't have to be ashamed with God.  He promises to take care of us if we will give ourselves to him, again and again.

Rend your heart
    and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity.
Who knows? He may turn and relent
    and leave behind a blessing

I am thinking about what I need to give to God today.  What is on your heart?  With God, our biggest struggles can be transformed into the source of our biggest blessings.

A prayer for today-

Dear Gracious, Compassionate, and Loving God,

Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, so that in You, I am forgiven.  Thank you for your mercy and grace.  I pray you will take the things I am struggling with and work them to be blessings for Your glory.

In the name of Christ, I pray,
Amen

Blessings,
